Our auditions are thorough and look to identify 3 types of improvisers:

• Some improvisers are adept at taking care of themselves on stage
• Some improvisers are adept at taking care of their scene partner
• Some improvisers are adept at taking care of the piece or the group

By the end of our program all of our improvisers learn how to do all 3 well, but our auditions are geared towards identifying if there is any one aspect that you may excel at.  Click here for more information on our Training Program.

All of our performers are cast in teams of 10 that seek equal genders.  Our training program was developed by Mike Abdelsayed.  Make sure to check out our Training Page to read about our approach and Mike's background.

Rather than charge $260 for an 8 week class, or charge the $10 a week industry standard to pay for a coach and rehearsal space, One Group Mind charges our members a $50 monthly membership fee to cover the payments made to coaches, performance spaces, and rehearsal spaces.  A portion of the membership fee is also used to provide:

• Regular, weekly rehearsals with an experienced coach
• Regular monthly performances at the Mayne Stage on the same day every month
• Free Admission to One Group Mind Public Performances at the Mayne Stage
• Discounts at local area bars and restaurants
• Recorded Performances made available online
• Access to online theory and online videos of theory
• Access to Headshot Photographer at Corporate Discounted Rate
• Access to Grossman and Park On-Camera Agent
• Private Online Team Workspace to hold discussions and share calendar events, documents, videos and coach's notes.   
• Ability to receive income through Touring performances, commission-based incentive programs, and offering your skill set as an hourly wage through One Group Mind
• Guaranteed mission of a regular team for an extended period of time with no unexpected cast or coach turnover 

We hold auditions whenever we have the opportunity to provide new teams with regular performances.  In 2011, One Group Mind made a partnership with the Mayne Stage in Chicago, IL to house our Chicago performance teams and improviser community.  Also in 2011 and into 2012 we have partnered with HUGE theater in Minneapolis, MN, to hopefully do the same!
